O'Bryan re-signs till end of 2028

The Spotswood FNC is proud to announce the resigning of current coach Steve O’Bryan for the next 2 years. 

Steve started as coach of the senior team back in 2025 after having been a player with the club since 2019, playing 53 games for the Woodsmen.

O’Bryan says he is thrilled to be given the opportunity to coach at the club for another 2 years.  “At the start of last year we had a plan to get the club back into finals, as the senior group hadn’t played finals since 2019.  We achieved that and now we look forward to taking the next step.  I am glad I have been given the green light to continue the work we have been doing as a senior group.”

The future does look bright for the Woodsmen and O’Bryan says he is very optimistic about the next 2 years.  “Our Under 18.5 program has been performing so well this year and we will see 19 of those players come up to the senior group next year.  And while I love working with our current playing group, and I’m excited for the up-and-coming and new players that will help take us another step forward as a football club."

SFNC President Tony Schibeci is very happy with the appointment. “Steve has worked so hard with the group in the last 2 years and you can really see the respect the players have for him.  The club as a whole is building right from our Junior program all the way to our seniors, and Steve’s appointment announcement now gives the playing group security about who will be their leader and also allows us to talk to other players knowing who will be at the helm.”
